Reaching Out – One Smile at a Time
Dr's. Stan and Audrey’s initial outreach was to Sderot, Israel in the fall of 2005 (see video, right). Sderot is a small town which borders the Gaza Strip in southern Israel. Kassam rockets launched into Sderot by Palestinian militants not only kill and maim but also create fear and terror. The children are especially affected. When asked what they needed most, their simple reply was,“hope”. Bridges for Smiles was a vessel of hope as they treated eighty-five children in just a few days.
In the fall of 2007, Bridges for Smiles opened a dental clinic in Beit She'an, Israel. Click here for the Beit She'an page.
The need for dentistry and dental knowledge is still a great need in Israel, as it is a medical need not met through government funding and often something that is not affordable for many families.
Short Term Mission Trips
It is the Crawford’s prayer that dentists and others who feel called by God to this most holy work would join Bridges for Smiles in our effort. We believe that the time to favor Zion is now and would like to ask that you please prayerfully consider how you might help support this outreach and the ministry of Bridges for Smiles.
We need more volunteers to give a week of their lives to serve the poor and make a personal impact. Would you consider going on a Short-Term Mission Trip to Israel with us? In addition to dentists, we need dental assistants and hygienists! If you have a servant spirit and a willingness to work, you can meet a need on one of our teams.
