On April 27, 2007, Dr. Stanley Crawford, a dentist in Grove, was elected to the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry for a three-year term. The Oklahoma Board of Dentistry is composed of eight dentists, one dental hygienist and two public members appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. Dr. Crawford will serve as one of eleven members who govern the practice of dentistry in Oklahoma. The Board is responsible for regulation of the practice of dentistry by a system of qualifications and examination. In conjunction with the practice of dentistry, the Board also regulates the practice of dental hygiene, dental assistants, and dental laboratories. The Board is a state agency self-sustaining through licensing fees, registrations, etc.
As a member, Dr. Crawford will serve as an examiner for national dental examinations across the country. Dr. Crawford will devote many hours to the Board in an effort to protect the health and safety of the public. The public should applaud the volunteer spirit of Dr. Crawford.
